Open on that extra hour

Up here in Canada, we work hard, and it really shows.....as you can see in a sign on a Canadian gas station front door.

Needed proof that winter lasts so longer in Canada? Here's proof. Ah....us silly Canucks, and our hard working ways, burning away that extra hour.

Oh yeah...if anyone can explain the logic of a 25 hr day, please enlighten me....I'd love to know where this extra hour comes from.

BTW, wondering what that black square is? Well, I thought I'd be so nice and hide the identity of the gas station name. Don't want to cause them some extra embarrassment.
